Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

HLATAID 001

Provide CPR or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation -
provides students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. The course is 3 hours long for initial course and 2 hours for refresher.

This is face to face and hands on. Students are expected to demonstrate 2 minutes of unassisted CPR on adult and child mannikin. This needs to be undertaken on the floor.

Assessment tasks -

  • Performance tasks – The assessor must observe the following performance tasks:

    • Perform CPR on an infant.
  • Practical scenarios – The assessor must observe the following practical scenario:

    • Perform CPR on an adult.
  • Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions. The student must successfully complete all assessment questions.

Provide Basic Emergency Life Support

HLATAID 002

Provide basic emergency life support Unit of Competency standard requires a level of physical ability to meet the evidence requirements for assessment. These standards relate to the level of performance required to provide resuscitation and respond to an emergency situation where there may be risk to life.

his course is undertaken in conjunction with HLATATID 003. Initial course is 2 hours, there is pre-course work and 5.5 hours face to face. Refresher course is  - 5.5 hours

Provide First Aid

HLATAID 003

This nationally recognised accredited course prepares you to respond to emergency situations by providing you with the skills and knowledge in first aid treatment.This course is undertaken in conjunction with HLATATID 002. Initial course is 2 hours, there is pre-course work and 5.5 hours face to face. Refresher course is  - 5.5 hours

Assessment tasks -

  • Performance tasks – The assessor must observe the following performance tasks:
    • Perform CPR on an infant
    • Anaphylaxis (allergic reaction)
    • Choking with airway obstruction
    • Unconscious casualty
    • Bleeding and shock
    • Snake or funnel web spider bite
    • Sprains and fractures
  • Practical scenarios – The assessor must observe the following practical scenario:
    • Perform CPR on an adult
    • Breathing difficulties – Asthma
  • Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. The student must complete all assessment questions.

Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation & Perform a rescue from a live LV Panel

HLATAID 001 and UETTDRRF06

The CPR and LVR course is essential if you are conducting live work or working with live switchboards. The Course covers the performance of rescue procedures from a live Low Voltage (LV) apparatus. Completing the course will provide an individual with the skills and knowledge to carry out and complete the LV panel rescue procedures and to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a casualty in a range of situations

Course Duration

Online Training with Face to Face Assessment - 40 minutes (minimum) face to face assessment with the addition of 5 hours of self-paced learning to be completed prior to attending the face to face course.

Assessment Requirements

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are Perform CPR on an infant; Inspection and placement of rescue equipment and performing a rescue and Perform CPR on an adult and carry out a Low voltage panel rescue. A written assessment consisting of short answer and multiple-choice questions is also required and the student must complete all assessment questions.

Provide Advanced First Aid

HLATAID 006

Provide advanced first aid is a nationally recognised unit that describes the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. Initial course is 2 hours pre-course work on line and 6 hours face to face .Refresher- 6 hours face to face 

Assessment tasks required-

  • Performance tasks -
    • Perform CPR on an infant
    • Anaphylaxis (allergic reaction)
    • Choking with airway obstruction
    • Head Injury/ Unconscious breathing casualty
    • Bleeding and shock
    • Snake or funnel web spider bite
    • Sprains and fractures
    • Seizures and epilepsy including febrile convulsions
  • Practical scenarios -
    • Perform CPR on an adult
    • Breathing difficulties – Asthma
    • Basic triage for multiple casualty and accident in the workplace
  • Documentation - The student must complete the following to the appropriate standard:
    • Incident report forms
  • Theory assessment - A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions.

Provide Advanced Resuscitation

HLATAID 007

Provide advanced resuscitation This course describes the skills and knowledge required to use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

Initial course 4 hours face to face and 2 hours pre-course on line. Refresher- 4 hours face to face-Assessment-Performance Tasks -

    • Administer oxygen and maintain equipment
  • Practical Scenarios -
    • Perform CPR on an infant
    • Perform CPR on an adult
    • Administer oxygen to an unconscious casualty
  • Documentation - The student must complete the following to the appropriate standard:
    • Incident report forms
  • Theory assessment - A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions.

Working within Your limitations this workout is suitable for all fitness levels. A combination of resistance, balance, core, cardio and fun.
